Info

“One thing I know for sure: singing is like flying. I am truly a bird, and it is not a dream.” Inspired by Alan Parker’s 1984 anti-war film, we tell Birdie’s story through dance. Traumatized by war, he lives in double isolation – confined to a psychiatric cell and locked away in his fantasy world as a “bird-man.” Only his friend Al, also war-damaged, frees him from this isolation by recounting their shared youth experiences. Only then does Birdie truly fly. Only then do both escape their trauma. Dancing into life.
