Dear members of the independent dance and theater scene in Stuttgart,

there is good news:

FTTS is once again funding performances and revivals of productions without municipal project funding from the Dance and Theater Department.

 

We are pleased to be able to support projects from Stuttgart’s independent dance and theater scene, even though the funds are limited.

Please note that the budget cut to FTTS decided by the City Council has primarily affected the performance and revival funding from our institutional funding. Despite internal reallocations within our office in favor of the volume of performance and revival funding from our institutional funding, the available funds are limited.

This has prompted us to establish the following criteria in consultation with the scene representatives from our member associations, according to which performance and revival funding from our institutional funding can be applied for – subject to available funds.

(Note: please observe the eligible maximum number of 8 performances per year per group/applicant including project funding from the Dance and Theater Department.)

• Processing is carried out according to application receipt date & chronologically – as long as funds are available
• In principle, 1 application can be submitted per applicant/group for 2026
• Applications are eligible if 2 out of a maximum of 3 of the requested performers are professional artists from Stuttgart, or more than 50%
• Performance location Stuttgart

Please note that the performance and revival funding from FTTS’s institutional funding is not intended to be full financing.

Both proof of additional third-party funding at municipal, state, or federal level or supra-regional visibility of the performances through collaborations with other theaters and guest performance requests are desirable.
