Of Bar Counter Gems and Other Delicacies

The association “Thekenperlen ’99 e.V.” is holding this year’s annual general meeting at the theatre instead of, as usual, in the corner pub. The tiny association, with just two members, is urgently looking for new supporters to save a cultural asset: the Sol egg!

Once found on every pub counter and affectionately dubbed a “bar counter gem”, the Sol egg looks back on a long and eventful career. It accompanied many Dionysian evenings, was savoured during cultural and political exchange, strengthened community, and witnessed intoxication and joy, friendship and loneliness, hope and worry.

The Sol egg would have a lot to tell!
