Dancer and choreographer Eva Baumann has been working inter/nationally in various constellations and artistic formats since 2006. A hallmark of her dance practice is movement research, which she brings to her work in a wide variety of ways, both as an ensemble member and as a solo artist. She creatively juggles her experience in classical and contemporary dance as well as in improvisation and somatic practices. She has received several scholarships, including from the Baden-Württemberg Art Foundation. Artist residencies have taken her, among other places, to the Bauhaus Foundation in Dessau. Since 2009, she has also been teaching in various contexts; most recently, she held a teaching assignment at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin for the Contemporary Puppetry department.

As a boundary-crosser between dance theatre, performance and installation, dancer-choreographer Eva Baumann has been initiating and producing her works in Stuttgart since 2012, staging them both in theatre spaces and as site-specific productions. Since 2020, she has also been working with puppetry and the medium of film; since her trilogy “herstory” (2017–2019), she has additionally been engaged in content-related mediation for and with audiences. A hallmark of her work is an investigative approach that relates different questions to one another and finds an artistic expression by locating choreography and the body in new fields of tension. In terms of content, she is interested in aspects of social issues that smoulder invisibly beneath the surface, feminist discourses, and historical connections between the past, the present and the future.
