Lukas Schneider

Lukas Schneider was already fascinated by theater and figures as a child and performed regularly as a hobby. He first trained as a carpenter in Switzerland and later completed further training in the carpentry industry. After 11 years in the office of a carpentry business, the desire to professionalize his puppetry grew within him once again. Starting with performance courses for marionettes and attending the “Figurentheater Continuing Education” in Liestal, his path led him to the HMDK in Stuttgart. There, he will complete his Bachelor’s degree in Figurentheater in September 2022 with the solo piece “Scaena Corpus.”

He debuted with his short format “The Gatekeeper.” In addition to his own productions, he works on various projects such as “The Princess with the Hole in Her Belly” at the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau, video productions for “Mira and the Flying House,” etc. He also builds theatrical figures, such as a large bird figure for “Inklusion” Braunschweig or a large Bernese Mountain Dog for the Moosegg open-air theater, etc.
