I produce waste, therefore I am. Wherever we are or whatever we do, something is left over and we leave something behind. We sort it into black, green and brown bins, into yellow bags—and consider our part done. Out of sight, out of mind. But what happens next to what we leave behind?
Every day, people in orange workwear are out and about in our city. They ensure that we are freed—quietly and smoothly—from what accumulates in our daily lives. It is a job you only notice when it is not done, and one that shapes the image of a city as much as our everyday lives.
In “Out of Sight”, LOKSTOFF!, in cooperation with Waste Management Stuttgart, gets to the bottom of the interplay between waste and society. The performance at the AWS Stuttgart depot grounds in Stuttgart-Stöckach invites you to reflect on what we leave behind—and what it has to do with us.
